Intake questions...

Hello all, I am looking to try another cold air intake and was leaning towards the GMPP intake but at a price of almost $400 I'm not sure I can swing it.. Plus I can not find anyone who sells them. I was looking on ebay and K&N has a series 63 fipk kit that closely resembles the GMPP kit... any one tried this one out? good / bad? should i spend the $360 for the GMPP? let me know your thoughts...

GM Parts Direct has them listed for $327.60 before shipping. IMHO I think they look damn good but that'll only do so much for performance. If I would have found them at this price, i'd have one under my hood instead of the CGS I've got.

wow! thanks for the link, i looked all over that stupid site and couldn't find anything... I too have a CGS, I wasn't happy with it so I put the stock box back on... I was thinking of doing the GMPP intake and a Magnaflow muffler, I've heard that they are a pretty good pair. It just seems that whenever I change something to gain hp It feels like I'm loosing it.. What to do, what to do...

I have the k&n and a straight through magnaflow. They paired well and helped on mpg. The k&n has a short tube and a very wet filter stock. You may have to clean the sensor with alcohol, as some have had codes. I have cleaned twice but had no codes yet. When it was first installed the traction light stayed on for about 5 miles then cleared itself out.

I have the FIPK installed and I got to admit that it helped for acceleration. I think the one thing that needs improvement is the tube that gets fresh air. I really want the GMPP intake but I think the chrome is a bit much for me. =\
