JFC, Another anomoly with my 08?

I just rec'd a CGS from one of our members. Really nice! I go to install it and see that there is NO bolt hole threaded in the valve cover for the support bracket.
I went to the CGS site for a better picture. Although they do not show the actual hole, it sure gives the impression that there is one there.

I already bought and paid for this thing, I sure as hell dont want to take off the valve cover and drill and tap a hole. That's not going to happen. So here I am, a brand new car, ****ty mileage and it looks like the guy that was supposed to drill that hole took the day off at the factory, LOL. I am truly here on earth to suffer. Yes, I am whining.

I was wondering if they changed the valve covers for '08.

I looked at two '08 models, one a 2.2L and one a 2.4L and both had the hole drilled. There looks like enough meat in the area to tap a hole and it looks like it can be done with out removing the cover or maybe just drill a small hole and use a self tapping metal screw to fasten the bracket to the cover since its aluminum.

disclaimer: No hard feelings can be reaped upon me if the self tapping screw idea does not work, cracks the cover or otherwise damages the vehicle in any way, shape or manner.

Great, fantastic, wonderful. I probably have the only one without the hole drilled. Just another F'ed up thing about this car. I was thinking of having it smogged to see if I can prove it's running rich. Gas smell in the oil and on the dipstick, 15.3 average MPG in town, tailpipe full of black crap.

Dealer wont do anything as this is all 'normal' I wonder if I can sabotage the car some way to get some attention. Brad, is there a number I can call at GM?

waiting on a number from ChevyMgr. I need to go over the dealer's head. Im not one to badmouth, they did" all they could do" I want some corporate involvement. If I had something else to drive, I would let them have it for a week or so just to really see whats up. LMFAO, I saw a commercial for Chevrolet with HHR as a high MPG vehicle. Well I know for sure they werent talking about mine.
