K&N Cold Air Intake & Traction Control Light
K&N Cold Air Intake & Traction Control Light
I have been having a problem with my traction control light coming on and codes ever since I installed my K&N cold air intake, and I think some of you guys are having the same problem.I have been in touch with a couple of people at K&N and they are trying to resolve this problem.MY dealer wants me to take it off or else I will have to pay to erase the codes each time it happens. How many of you guys have this problem, maybe some feedback from others will help resolve this problem faster.K&N also needs to know what codes are showing up in the computer.I hope you guys can give me a hand here to help me resolve this problem for all of us,THANKS.
Some of the auto parts chains will scan for codes free. Check with your local ones to see if they offer that.
Then, if you're successful, post the exact codes that they find.
I can possibly see where a lean or rich code "could" be generated, but something that triggers the traction control light is a puzzle right now.

I have been in touch with 2 people at K&N,Arleen Pruitt or James Johnston. They are trying to be very helpful in resolving this issue but need feedback about the codes that are showing up and when they are showing up.I am trying to give them as much info as possible.Like my traction control light usually comes on at idle like at a red light but the other day I had my car washed and on restart it lit up again, weird. Thanks for the replies.
P0106 - MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor performance (see note below!)
C0561 - System Disabled Information Stored EBCM
I do know that GM revised the LE5/E67 Operating System Calibration in regards to the P0106 MAP issue. Never saw the details, but would think it has to do with tolerance range before a DTC is triggered. A knowledgeable dealer tech should be able to take care of this with a ECM flash to the new OS Calibration. There may be a TSB on this.
Neither should be related to any intake, but there seems to be some mysterious link though.
