K&N Will it pass emissions in RI?

I want to put this K&N https://www.knfilters.com/air_intake...rolet/hhr/2.4l. in my 2009 2.4L Flex Fuel, on their site it says it is 50 State Street Legal. Does this mean it will pass inspection in Rhode Island without having to put the stock intake back on. About 10yrs ago I failed an inspection for putting an aftermarket cold air intake on my Mazda 3 that I bought on eBay, but I don't think it said anything about 50 state legal online.

I just want to make sure I'll be good and not have to put the stock stuff back on in order to pass an inspection before splurging money on this.

I guess, if you don't think R.I. is one of the 50 states, you should ask an inspector. I don't know what a CAI would have to do with a smog inspection, unless you over oiled it and set a code or bypassed the MAF and set a code.

I’ve got that FIPK , I’m not in RI but we do have SMOG tests, mine has passed just fine over the last 5years or so.

It's just a different air filter. Has no effect on emissions.

I have one and I’m in California.
All you have to remember is to put the carb exempt sticker somewhere in the engine compartment that the inspector will see. It comes with the intake.
If you are talking about just the drop in filter, then there will be no problem at all.
