A4 hard coated parts last longer due to, added wear resistance, chemical resistance, and help strengthen the part, by filling in some of the pits / mirco-cracks in the aluminum surface.

I'm coming to this forum looking for MPG-improvers. I'm a 15 veteran of modding and drag racing Camaros and Trans Ams...not a newbie to engine modification by any means.
What I can't get past is how you guys expect to maintain the longevity of your motors with the Harmonic Balancer replaced with this lightened aluminum unit. For the LT1 motors we would never have considered lightening the balancer/pulley, but under-drive crank pulleys were common.
Without the balancer you're looking at pretty massive damage to the bearings after a while.
