I bought a wrecked hhr and took all performance parts of it and put it on mine, mine is manual other is auto, can I put the computer out of it in mine? Computer out of wrecked one has a tune for the stuff I took off it.

 

Physically, possibly. But I would think it would require a re-program due to yours being a manual, and not an auto that it was use to.

Shouldn't break anything to try. Shifting would probably be exciting.

 

I was told after asking here that it wouldn't work because the Vin number from other car was burned into computer and I would have to have it retuned, is that true?

 

Sounds kinda along the lines of what I said...

 

The VIN may make some options not work, but the engine should run. You WILL get a CEL for the crankshaft position sensor, it will need to be relearned (Tech2 or equivalent needed).

 

I think the gist of what is being said here by us, is just tune the one you have.

 

Yeah I will tune my own, just hoping it would of worked.
