By lag, what are you talking about? I know the transmission upshifts really early, typically cruising in 4th at 40mph and will drop to third when you gas it. I have to ask because this was what I mistakenly thought was lag in my last post. Since then I've been paying closer attention to what the car is actually doing.

 

So that's what it is? A shame that it would hurt emissions to change this. I cruise often in fifth gear at seventy to eighty mile per hour, and this is very noticeable. I would love to feel it without the lag.
