Urgh!! *Sigh* I see this all the time, where I work. New front ends being placed on cars with front end damages so severe it can't be fixed. So a new one from another one that has already been in an accident else where in the car, and is cut off at the junk yard and placed on the customers car. Isn't this, or aren't cars with that much damage supposed to be TOTALLED?

 

So this has been totalled twice? I hope you disclose all this to the buyer.

 

I don't think i would be able to sleep at night knowing my car was originally 2 cars at one time. Matter a fact they had this same problem on Pimp My Ride, with a guy who had a Ford Escort who he bought from a friend. They started taking it apart and they found out it was from 2 cars and deemed it not safe for him and his family. So X-Zibit went out and bought them a new 2005 -2006 Scion Xb and hooked it up!

If he was in Ontario, that info would be disclosed in the Used Vehicle Information Package that the government requires for all used car sales, whether it's a private sale or a dealer sale.

P.S. Why is this in the 2.4L Performance section and not in General HHR or The Lounge?

 

well i expected a different response from all of you, anyway let the post die and i'll tell you what i sell it 4. I posted this in the 2.4 section cuz i have a 2.4 and figured i would get more help here. sorry if that kept you up black rose.

 

I'm not trying to personally rip on you, MIB, and I'm sorry if I'm coming across that way, but in reality, salvage-rebuilt cars just aren't worth that much. When a salvage or rebuild title vehicle would come to my dealership, the max offer we'd give is $50 because they just weren't worth anything wholesale.

Nope didn't keep me awake at all. I just thought that since the topic had nothing to do with 2.4 Performance it didn't really belong in the performance forum. If it was in general or the lounge it might've gotten more visibility.

Does the reconstructed HHR still have a salvage title or has it been inspected and the title changed to rebuilt (or equivelent)? That will be your biggest issue.

I think it has to get inspected by some police/bmv authority to make sure it is safe and in sound order before you can get license and can drive it on roadways. And should be able to get insurance after passing inspection.
