I unlock cars for work daily. No problem to get in with a dead battery and shaved handles for me! about 20-30 seconds. LS

I'm still not sure if they're interchangable with the front. I guess there is only one way to find out! Who's going to be first.

$77.59 each

Try www.autoloc.com they have door solenoids with adjustable pulling strengths. Another good one would be godfathercustoms. They would have them too. Good luck to the brave soul willing to weld on their new HHR. Did this to a Ram a while back, cool for a while but got old for a daily driver real soon. Doing again though on the project in the garage.

How was it in the winter? Did the doors ever freeze shut?

Do you have any pictures of your Dodge, I'd like to see it.

Winter was no problem for me. I did put some deicer on the door rubber and that helped keep the doors from freezing shut. I'll have to check and see if there are any pics around here of it.

Man, as smooth as the H would look without the handles, I still don't think I personally would do it. I had a friend who had shaved handles on his car, and it just got old riding around with him, waiting on him to pop the door.

If I had a project or non-daily driver, then yea, I'd definitely do it. Just my opinion...

My kid just did this to his '57 Ford Coupe. Tried to talk him out of it, but teens know better. Saturday the battery went dead. Hood opens from inside....We had to use a slim jim to open the door to open the hoot to get to the battery.

Oh well....... hour late to his date....... I told him so.....

When I did it to my old ram I relocated the hood latch to the underside of the front airdam. Rebolted it there, up out of direct water spray, and nobody knows unless they see you pop the hood. Saved my but a time or two. Maybe not the safest or most secure way there is but it definatley worked for me and no one ever knew. Hope the poor guy who bought it found it though

If you wipe down your door weatherstrips once a week with wd40 in the winter, you won't have to worry about frozen shut doors. LS
