2008 and up Malibu antenna's for our HHR's?

I was checking out an '08 Malibu in the parking lot at work, and I noticed that they have the shorter (stubby) style antenna's. Anyone ever try mounting one up to their HHR? If so, were there any fitment issues?

Maybe this was the XM/Onstar antenna that I saw. I checked out the car again, and didn't see any additional antenna's or anything.

Yeah that antenna is for OnStar. Most cars don't even have visible radio antennas...wonder why the HHR does. If it's going to have any, I'd prefer like the Cobalt has, a big huge one. Don't know why, but I just like those. Plus then you can buy an antenna topper!!!!

Besides, look at any ad or brochure for the HHR....there isn't an antenna on it in the pictures! They obviously didn't like the looks of it!

If you're looking for a shorter OEM antenea, look back a couple years.

My SIL has a Pontiac convertible hardtop (POS), I think it's an '06. I noticed she had the short rubber stubby and tried it for a couple of days (her car is a garage queen). Seemed like it received am-fm just as well as my fishing pole.

Boy do I wish it wasn't for XM only, cuz it would look sweet on our HHR's. Also, I've noticed that the Malibu's and HHR's have a lot of similarities. Besides the wheels, wonder how many other parts are swappable?

Snoopy-

What do you call short for a oem antenna ?? The OLs' 08 Dodge Avenger SXT has a rubber 7" long antenna, it does fit the HHRs' & works good too. Just looks too long imo.

Sheverlay-

I do believe the Malibus' are using the same 2.4 motors we have. Not sure if they are FWD or not ? ChevyMgr has one IIRC ? Sharp car.

They come in the 2.4 and 3.5L options for the higher trims and are FWD.

I have the 3.5L V6 with 6 Spd Auto and Paddle Shifters for Manual Mode. Its really peppy and fun to drive
