I just saw a 49 Chevrolet pick up with real cool looking lights on the top of the fender about a foot in back of the head light. They look like they came with the truck when it was new. Were they an option for the 49 Suburban? Does anyone know if these were a stock item or something someone added later? Does anyone have a picture? That would be great.

I do not think the 49 had them stock it was an earlier model that came with the turn signal at the back. This webpage shows some early model Chevy Trucks and panel trucks you will see the lights on the early 40 models but not the late 40's.

I was at a car show 8-31-08 and I asked a guy there that had a beautiful 46 Chevy. He said yes that the lights on the front fenders of the 49 that I saw was an option at that time
