Got to OK from the wife to buy rims for the SS.

My ? is how is the ride with the 20's?

Is the road noise a lot worse? And any regrets?


I'm leaning towards 19's because the valley streets and L.A. Freeways suck!

 

I am rolling on 20'' and to me I get more looks and just looks better to me I don't really hear the road noise because of the system. But I would say go with the 20'' and not the 19'' the 20'' tires will be a little easyer to find if you blow a tire 19'' little harder to find just me

 

If you want to sustain the performance of your SS i would go with 18 or 19 inch tire, a lot of people will argue this fact but the bigger you go the slower you go. IMO i would roll with 18s though i do like 29 a lot but the tire is hard to come buy like flyhhr said.

 

I had 19's twice on my Vibe, cheapest tires I could get at Discount Tire with warranty totaled over $900 alone. From what I understand they are more expensive b/c they are a less common size. I want to go 20s on the SS, in time, they look better IMO than 18s, 18s just look too small to me.

 

My hhr has 19 inch rims on it and i love the ride... it rides really nice!

 

i have 20s. love them. with the drop and the size(im runnin 235-30-20) the ride isn't bad.
but, i also had a bagged Celica on 18s with a 35 series tire. im use to the ride.
