All Headlights on Mod?
I don't want high and low beam on at the same time, just want control of the fog lights so I can have them on either low or high beam.
It seems the ones that design automotive headlamps decided that it should get darker in front of the car when switched to bright. I can't stand this, it fatigues my eyes and makes driving long distance at night exhausting. Most of my driving is rural county roads or interstate. The county roads are not smooth asphalt, but uneven oil and chip. I just want white even light covering all the area right in front of the vehicle all the time (which means I really need hid projectors lamps.)

Basically you are going to have to bypass the stock controls to do what you want.
Seems as though some people don't undestand the question. He does NOT want hi and low beams on at the same time. He wants his fog lights to not automatically turn off when he switches from lo to hi beam. My HHR also turns off the fog lights when I switch the hi beams on.
Mr. Officer, I have also thought about this because I too do not like it when the fog lights turn off when you switch to hi-beam. It does get very dark directly in front of the car and that is what I rarely use hi-beam. An independent switch for the fogs may be the best over all answer.

Why do this?
I have always been informed that if you are in fog, then you should never use high beams. They reflect back at you and worsen your visibility. That's why they are wired not to work together.
The way I did mine is I took the trigger wire for the fog relay and connected it to my side marker. That way, the fogs are on using low beam OR high beam. I am even able to run my fogs with park lights only, too. I did not install a switch inside the car because I have no desire to NOT run my fogs.
Sure bud, let me get my reart cig plug working again. Its due for an oil change and that is among the things to be glanced at when it goes in.

What I'd really like to do is install the factory fog light switch but use one of the relays mentioned either on this thread or another one that can switch on/off with a momentary contact signal like the oem switch sends out.
Who ever mention that relay, please let me know where I can get one.
I've looked at the oem style fogs on ebay, but before I order, who has ordered them from where? and happy with what they got?
And if anyone has part # for 2009 style (with traction control button) fog lamp switch, please let me know and or where best deal on it also.
Thanks everyone for your info and help.
