What does the seats in a HHR lS 1LT or 2LT have to do with the side air bag that in the A,B&C pillers??? is about the sensor in the seat telling the BCM that some one is in the seat!to turn the air bag on or leave it off. Whats not the same from an LT to an LS with cloth? 06,07,08

i can see it as a safety issue. all it takes is for an insurance company to see that the air bag didnt deploy and its lawsuit city. but me i would take my chances on that. some people are real big on safety.

oh well i still want the ss just have to buy some regualr seats and get them covered cause i want leather that bad and since i am going to that length i might as well go custom....thanks for all the replies

I'd love to swap out my SS bumper as well but from what I can see, you wouldn't fit the intercooler behind the bumper. The test mules had a big section cut out of the stock bumper and the intercooler hung out exposed. Now the rear bumper cover and rockers I'd like to swap and may start looking. I love the stock body lines better than the SS but couldn't put up with the lack of performance since I gave up a nice firebird for this family wagon.

Ok - what if I wanted to do the other way, what if I wanted to put the SS bumper and grill on my 2LT to match my SS, is it simply a matter of unbolting the LT's and slapping on the SS - or is it much more complicated?

The fog lights may present an issue. Unless you don't plan on installing a set in the SS facia. Maybe Brad could shed some light on this.

Actually, I would want the fog lights if I went that route.
However, I expect it would be cost prohibitive - plastic can be SO expensive
these days ;-)

I'm actually now considering getting a color matched grill for it - I've never
really liked chrome, and wish the LT had color matched mirrors and door
handles like the LS and SS....

Now - if someone could photoshop up what a VR colored grill would look like on a VR LT - that would be great ;-)

One of the members of this forum has installed the SS bumper on his panel. You might need to do a search if he doesn't respond.
