Anyone remove the chrome from the mirrors?

I have the Satin finish on my 07. i kind of prefer it myself. Chrome looks good too.

you cant buy just the satin or chrome caps. you have to buy the whole mirrors. that is what the dealer told me when they replaced mine for whistling.

Very gently :)

I pulled mine off with nothing more than fingernail power. Of course if you have no finger nails (like I usually do cuz I have a nasty habit of biting them), then a very well placed screwdriver will work. It requires a bit more force on the bottom than on the top, so start with the top first and work your way from inside (door side) to outside on the top, and do the same on the bottom. The last clip you pry loose will be the outside clip. I guess this kinda ruins the surprise a bit on my next mod.. but hey.. ya'll gotta wait for pics now

Thanks, the fingernail method worked great. I followed your instructions and it popped right off. I must say the black caps look much better on our black hhr.

Anyone wanna buy my chrome covers?
