Already tried that trick. The only way that looks like carbon fibre is if you stand back fifteen feet, and look at it.
Sure would'nt do it on a customer's car. Looks way to cheap, for my taste.

You've got "the eye", Moon....... I'm the same way with many things. I came to realize long ago that most people don't have that "eye". Didn't mean I stopped trying for perfection, just realized nobody noticed.

Do a search , You can buy real carbon fiber adhesive backed strips, A bunch of sizes and they will probally do custom orders.
I can't remember the site, but was looking into it when i got the SS in '08
expensive, But real, Needed to be cut with tin snipes.
As real as it gets, If your going for detailed carbon fiber.

IMO i thought the spray VDO was intresting, And that the checkered flag stuff looked awsome.

I posted earlier on another thread, with a pic. of a Mustang, with racing stripe with some very real looking carbon fibre vynil spripes. Made by 3m, it's called DI Noc, comes in about 5 different shades, and different lengths and widths. Trust me this stuff looks real, even up close, and you can go around corners and shapes with it. Just Google it up, and take a look.
Later, I'm going to use it for my racing stripe on the SS, and maybe some other stuff. Going to try on some signs before long. "Moon"

I saw a lambo with real carbon fiber work , cleared into a paint job.
It was unREAL ! Still kick myself for not having my camera.

i ordered a bunch of samples from rvinyl... not impressed at all. when holding the vinyl next to my real carbon fiber trim, there is just no comparing them. i plan on trying 3m's di-noc, but so far there is no substitution for the real thing. seeing as you already have the SS spoiler, just make a mold of it, and produce your own CF parts. if you're going for looks alone, and not the weight reduction of CF, then only the outermost layer has to be carbon fiber, and the structure can be fiberglass ( save some money ).
