as to the seats
they are easy to take out,,, there are 2 black covers that pop off on the back bar,,, all you do is slide the seat forward to see them,,, reach under and there are 2 plugs,,, those have to be released... not hard,,,, i was told to not start the car w those unplugged

with the seat more forward, remove the 2 bolts on back,,, lean the seat forward and lift out of the track,,,,, easy

you have to be real carefull not to scratch the car when taking the seats out

i put the headrest on top of a chain link fence and painted it,,, worked great

set the seat on some plywood and painted it on the side of the house for no overspray

i used 3/4 3M masking tape to set the lines and then 1.5 to cover the rest

if you get overspray from tape not sticking,,, no biggie just use a little acetone on a clean white rag to wipe it off

i will do the rest of the passenger tomorrow cept the emblems

Real clean looking CJ, I wasn't a big fan of the light tones they used so that should really look nice.

That looks great, CJ -- thanks for all the ideas and the thorough detail you put into modding your car and in your posts here, too.

I like your Avitar picture. Is it a 53 chevy? It is hard to tell from the angle of the shot. That is the color I would like on my next HHR. Buttercup or maybe Canary yellow.

Hey CJ when its all finished and dried let us know how it feels for seating purposes? Curious if it stiffens the cloth up any.

Step 2 and half of 3
One seat done cept the HHR on the headrest

I got the Chevy bowtie on and this pic shows a little striping cause the paint is still drying but it looks good w the 3 colors

i really like it with the 3 colors. looks more like the inside and now it will not show dirt as much
