Does anyone know how to remove the shift knob on the auto trans?

I'd like to replace the stock knob with an eight ball, dice or skull (can't make up my mind).

 

I was looking at mine yesterday and wondering the same. Thought maybe that chrome section on the back of the lever handle comes off somehow. Didn't want to pry too hard, afraid it might break so I left it alone until I knew for sure.
