Unhappy Door Adjustment

Drivers door got blown wide open. Now touching fender. How do I go about adjusting the door before any damage starts from the door and fender rubbing against one another.

Oh boy! It sounds like you may have bent hinges to deal with if the door went past its limits. I don't think you can cure this with just an adjustment, I think you might be looking at replacing the hinges. I'd have it looked at by a body shop to get their opinion, in the meantime you could put some tape on the leading edge of the door and trailing edge of the fender to preserve the paint.

Or sprung the door jamb, which is not an adjustment made by a wrench or socket..

I thought there was a limiter arm that kept the door from opening to far....... No?

Limiter arm is kinda flimsy, don't think its designed to take a wallop from the full weight of a gust propelled door. Do you remember the canvas straps they used to use, always seemed like a better idea for limiting travel, but then the doors could fall shut on you.

But if it did (& nothing else) door should still close properly.
I'm thinking something has sprung, &/ or bent.

I thought it was closing properly, problem being that it opened to wide........ Maybe I should re-read the original post....

If you just want to slide the door back a pinch, unloosen the hinge bolts (slightly), the holes are elongated a bit for adjustment...
