E&G Classics Grille

I recently purchased the E&G Classics Heavy Metal Mesh grille and tried installing it. I got the grille on but when I close the hood the grille is recessed behind the bumper and there is about a 1/2" space between the bumper and the grille. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Second, it sounds like that may have been an SS aftermarket grille? Or do you have an SS HHR, and still have that gap?

The SS grill is taller( or hangs lower). If you put it in a regular HHR then you can't close the hood.
The OP stated there was a gap with the hood closed. A SS fitted with a grill for a regular HHR would leave a gap.
Pictures would help with identifying the problem.
FWIW. I think that grill is only available for the regular HHR. No SS model.
