I Would Think That Etching In The Glass Makes The Glass More Prone To Breaking, Because The Surface Has Been Compromised.

Probably....but to a degree that is unmeasureable by a layman/owner. It would probably be to the same risk standard as an aftermarket exhaust compromising the system or an aftermarket intake effecting the emissions. To each his own comfort level.

I've done this on several vehicles over 45 years and never experienced any type of breakage.

I went with the vinyl set first to see how I would like it. May just keep them instead of having the window etched. Only cost me 20.00 for a pair plus shipping

yeah, i'm pretty sure that spray won't last too long since I don't think it is for outside use, but you could always clearcoat it as well with the stencil still on.

Not to be stepping on anyone's toes here, but i just really don't like the etched glass look, but i don't really like overly elaborate paint jobs either. I'm a believer in clean lines and minimalism.

I think etched glass can be cool

I think etched glass can be cool but it much like a tattoo it is there to stay once you do it.
I also believe it will weaken the glass some but I do not think enough to hurt anything.
If I was to do that it would have to be something pretty nice and simple. I would not want to put anything that would make it harder to sell.
