Front door window tint

I want to tint the front door windows on my HHR. What percentage window tint would be the best match to the factory tint that's on the back doors?

I'm looking at this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...spagenameZWDVW

Possibly 20%?

20% is what the rears are. Check your state laws on window tint or you may be receiving some tickets. I've always tinted all my windows 35% front and 20% back and liked the results Haven't decided if I want to take the risk with Black Knight since it is illegal in Michigan to have the front door windows tinted Also, I've heard some mixed reviews of precut tints and I would prefer to leave this job to a pro.

We did 20% on both HHRs, looks great, very close match, only one ticket for tint so far!

I have 20% on mine. Looks good, but slightly illegal.

I had a place down the street match mine as well.Cost 75 bucks and took about 2 hours.I'll post a pic after I charge the camera batteries. Here in Alabama we have very liberal rules on tint among other things and it turned out nice.

20% just like the others. I wouldn't feel comfortable about buying tint off of ebay though. With tint you get what you pay for. I would buy a roll of good premium metallized tint like Madico Onyx if you are intent on doing it yourself. That's what I have on my HHR. Then your tint is guaranteed to stay black for life rather than fading or turning purple after a couple of years. It is also shatter resistant, has maximum heat and glare reduction, and blocks 99% of UV rays.

I had 30% put on mine. It's just a bit lighter than the rears, but not much at all. The front side glass in tinted 70% from the factory, and 20% on top was too dark for what I wanted. I figured if it was closer to the legal limit (35% in Missouri) perhaps I wouldn't catch the attention of the police. Plus I was concerned about being able to see out after dark.

I had an appointment to get mine done last week but I got sick and could not get to the shop .... He has done all my cars and only charges like $45.00 to do the fronts... In Tx the installer has put some sort of sticker under the tint that makes it DOT legal.. If the installer get caught putting the DOT sticker on illegal tint he will get fined....

Agree with the Capt. You get what you pay for. And like everyone else said check your local laws to see how dark you can go
