Personally I can live with the front plate. If my HHR is stolen and the cops are watching for it they can see the one rear plate in front of them or all the front plates coming at them. I prefer the latter

Here in Mo. it's the law. I was lucky to get a HHR without a tag bracket. The dealer let me take one off another HHR. But I did not want holes in my bumper. So I mounted it from under the black plastic. Drilled two 1/4 inch holes in the top of the bracket and then marked them on the underside of the black piece. Drilled two 1/4 inch holes there then bolted it up. Know it hangs below my bumper. Went back by the dealer and the owner said that's where they needed to be. The help agreed but said it looked like a pain to put on. Maybe but it looks better than there crooked brackets??

Thanks all. I didn't want to risk a ticket cause here in LA the cops are pretty zealous. I went to a Burbank Chevy dealer and got one from their parts department. Took it over to the service bay and the boys not only installed it for me but saw the license plate on the floor in the back seat and put it on, too. No charge. Great service, I'll definitely go back there again.
