The eyebrows, strip under the airdam, and painted center bars on the grill all work together to make the car look lower and wider. I think that painted the entire grill black would take away from the effect. Is the edging flexible? If so, it may bend for the car wash, though you should be washing your baby by hand. The only time my car went through a wash was when the body shop took it after repairing some damage, and the antenna got broken off by one of the brushes (which inspired me to remove it and install an antenna on the front window).

But I like the overall effect so much that I am definitly looking into both the edging, the eyebrows, and painting my grill. The problem is, what color? Black or red???

Lee, have you thought about a three bar grill? might look pretty sweet with a black grill and red mesh, or visa versa

I have thought about it, but not much time to do involved things like that right now. Busy with the kids, and trying to build my Jeep. So I am trying to keep the HHR mods short and simple. I am looking to get one of the smaller steering wheels now.

I agree Paul. Problem is finding vinyl for the eyebrows to match my color. I guess I could use paint, but it wont last long on glass.

Actually, forgot about the yellow flames coming from the lights. As you can see on the left headlight, red looks kind of stupid. I did the right side in yellow and it looks better, IMHO. For the best result, though, I need yellow vinyl with a little red paint to follow the curves of the flame (I really wanted it to encompass the whole light, but it was a little too narrow). And I have a few pieces of the yellow vinyl, hopefully enough to do the eyebrows.
