Full Weekend of Mods.. many PICTURES.. 56k warning!
Paul, if you do a search for Knight Rider, there are web sites that sell EVERYTHING do the conversion. You can get the actual light bar that they use. From what I hear, the upper part of the grill is not really flowing much air to the radiator (it comes from the bottom part) so a small light panal there should not cause overheating.
The hardest part is indeed finding a place to mount the swithches. I had 3 to install (for my siren, additional air horn, and to turn my back-up alarm off or on). I removed the useless 'airbag warining' light and cut a small piece of black plastic from the top section of an old tool box. Then I drilled holes in it for the switches (I used buttons-2 momentary and one on/off) and mounted it.

Doesnt look too bad like that-I would have preferred different switches, but I wanted all 3 to match.

The GTimer is only there for the photo, so usually that is an open bin. It is attached to a piece of wood that perfectly fits into the bin. I dont like suction cupping things to the window and having long wires hanging down. The bottom plastic piece is actually an LED light for the window switches. And the plastic thing on the right side is also on the left side (holding up the Flash) and is for a cell phone.
The GTech is just plugged into one of the 3 12 volt sockets I installed (1 is near sunroof controls for radar detector to avoid dangling wires into the cigarette lighter).
Everything (except for Flash doll) is for function, since it is my daily drive

)

Looks good
Looks good. The decals look better and the chrome bolts looks good to me to. Not that they look good it is that they make it look like a NASCAR. The front spoiler looks good to me with chrome or black bolts.
Not sure what kind of camera you have (does not matter much) but to get better pictures you will have to try on an overcast day to eliminate most of the burned out highlights and shadows. Probably should not park it in front of a trash can to. With an all black car I think it will be difficult to get really good pictures but can be done.
Since you have a dark car you probably should not park it in front of such a light background. Try a lake, park or trees for a background. If I remember right I think you had a good picture of your car at the lake? I think that was a good background and time of day pic. You do not want it so dark that it makes the whole picture look dark but not quite as much contrast as you have so the background does not distract from the car.
The best time is the 45 minutes or so before the sun goes down. There is plenty of light but you do not get the sunlight reflections and shadows so you can see the shape and colors of car.

That is a picture took on an overcast day.
Below is a picture took mid day

On the picture took in bright light you can not even make out the roof as the highlights are badly blown out. There is distracting reflections and shadows and junk in the background. I had some worse pictures but they have been deleted or are on one of my other cameras. You should be able to tell from these pictures how to use light to help you improve your pictures though. The background to get a good picture of my white car is different than one for your black car. With both you will not get a really good quality photo in bright mid day sun though.
