Fun with vinyl !!

Just had to show some skills with the Exacto knife and some leftover vinyl. Not bad for $ 1.79 sheet of vinyl and about an hour of work.

I would do that, but the only thing you have to remember with Vinyl or decals. If you plan on taking them off, you'll be sorry! Over time the paint around fades naturally, whiile the paint underneath the vinyl is still bright color. You will notice the Burned in image.

That was true with the older acrylic enamels and lacquers, not so much with acrylic urethane (basecoat/clearcoat), which is what cars are painted with now.

I would think it still would fade around it. I have seen plenty of newer cars that had those magnet ribbon things and it is darker and very noticable where they were placed.

To each his own. If your concerned then don't do it. I've debadged and de-moulded several cars that were more than 5 years old and there was no sign of fading.

Dont forget its silver..... If it was blue or red i would be more concered... not silver. even if it did you wouldnt notice.
