I would think it would be possible to place a second protector up against the first with minimal trimming !

But it would probably not look professional.

Yep, the protector for the HHR is marginal at best.
So when I added one, I just did one for the looks. I think this was the last silver carbon one the ole "socalhhr's" had. Still holding up well.

I now have an old thick towell that I throw over the bumper area when I load my three wheel walker and/or my mobility scooter
At least it looks good to admirers of my Silver HHRLT2.
It is a protector, and it works. It is well designed.
I have it installed on my 06. It works quite well.
Maybe if I loaded all that crap in mine it wouldn't work either, however; for trips to the grocery store it "works quite well".

Let's not get huffy. A mobility scooter or a three wheeled walker is far from "CRAP". Hopefully, you will never need to use this "CRAP" in your lifetime!!!!! as I have to!!!

i got the oem protector , but havn't yet installed it.....i use my rear door alot...i deliver to 6 stores 6 days a week...i take great care not to ever sit anything on the bumper , but inevitably it still gets some scratches...the worse problem is my new puppy's feet, claws...i plan to install the protector , and also put some grip/antislip tape over the rest of the top of the bumper and about 1 inch down the side....i found some big rolls of it on fleabay , but i think i'll look for a smaller piece locally...i know they used to sell it it at skateboard shops..i don't know if we still have those shops...i would also think i could find some at a boating supply.
