Grille Bowtie Replacement

I recently bought a new chrome grille which came with no emblem, I figured I would buy one online. To my surprise none are available anywhere! The tailgate emblem is almost the same size, so I ordered one to see if I can modify it to mount the grille OK. My worry is that the arc of the emblem won't match the grille and won't adhere correctly.
Has anyone else found replacement grille emblems that are close in size that will work?

I bought a new grille, so there's no old bowtie to paint.

I most recently used black wheel paint on a front emblem. Much tougher than the previous Krylon fail.

I'm in the market for an intact used rear to paint, if anyone wants to sell me one.

I solved the problem by mounting a tailgate emblem, which is almost the same size as the grille emblem but doesn't match the curve of the grille. I snipped off the alignment tabs and drilled 2 pilot holes that lined up with the 2 guide holes in the grille. Using 2 short sheet metal screws with washers I was able to secure it in place. The adhesive on the back of the emblem also helped to hold it secure.
Now I have a flat emblem on a slightly curved surface, but if you didn't know any better you would think it was factory. That's good enough for me.
This part is available on EBay for $30, just add 10 cents worth of screws.

I tried repainting mine and it turned out terrible. I ended up painting it on the front of the plastic to match the body color with a lot of clear coat to help it stay in place. Turned out OK.
