When they come out I won't hesitate to tint my headlights. I had tinted headlights on my Mustang with the stock bulbs then I switched to SilverStars and there was a world of difference.

Thanks for checking on this "Retro"...

I have been checking on H13's as well. There is a couple of other manufacturers, but they are "slightly" illegal. I may still go in that direstion because of the "risk to reward".

I had Silverstars on my old pickup, and they lasted three years. Now, my new truck, they only last 8 months. Sylvania has a one year warranty on these, and they also state you`ll only get about one years worth of use out of them, according to their website.
The Trailblazer the wife traded in had them also, and they lasted about a year. That one had the DRL`s as the main beam. Just like my old C1500, but that one, the voltage increased to the lamp when the lights were turned on by the switch.
I really do not understand why there was so much difference.
I contacted Sylvania when my original set on the new truck went bad, and the did a courtesy warranty exchage for me as I did not have a receipt.

Just putting some info out there on these, not to scare anyone away from them.
I like the actuall vision that they give compared to OEM.
Much brighter.
I have them in my truck for headlights and fog lights. They're almost 3 years old now.

You're right though, Sylvania does state to expect them to last about a year.

Tomorrow's project

I'm assuming I'll be able to get to the fog lights to change the bulbs the same way you get into the headlights. I'm gonna take before and after photos, and if I don't get too frustrated going in through the wheel well, I'll try to do a "how to". Wish me luck!!

P.S.
H13ST - Advance Auto Parts
9145ST - Pep Boys

Thank goodness my town has both!
