a guy at the cobalt forum did this the past summer on his road trip and he did a pretty cool design with the painters tape too... and it does not hurt the paint,

A lot of guys that show their cars but have to drive to the shows use commercial cling wrap. Wrap it all over the front then peel it off when they get there. Using cooking spray works but it can be really messy especially if you use to much and drive before it sets up......blows back onto the windshield....

My car came with a clear bra...love it. I have driven across country, CO, KS, OK, TX and back, heat, wind, rain, cold and snow, no problems.

Commercial cling wrap...where do you get this stuff? I could've used this stuff this weekend. I drove I5 route to south of Stockton and my whole front end is plastered with bugjuice

I ordered one of the cheaper vinyl clear bra kits off ebay. Its going on this week I hope, after I fix the 6-7 chips already on my 4 month old HHR.
However, it looks like it may not cover the hood beside the grille all the way down to the bumper, which is where most of the chips are.
If it works out well, I will get more, as the same seller also sells it off the roll by the foot. I could do the rear bumper by the tailgate, the rear fenders, heck why not the whole damn car?

I bought the colgan front end cover and it fits very tightly and no flapping in the wind at 80mph. My sister in law has a new solara with the clear mask by Ziebart and she was going down the interstate and someting kicked up and hit the front end and cut thru the clear mask and still damaged the paint.

Do the clear bra .....by far the best protection...sure if u're car gets hit by a baseball there is gonna be damage but otherwise it handles all the rock chip abuse...ALSO the car is far easier to clean with the clear bra.. the bugs just wipe of with a damp towel... i had it installed on my SS right after delivery..

ALSO a quality installer is key

Thank you all for your input! I am leaving next week so ordering something would be cutting it close, plus I'm not sure about applying anything long term to the paint either, I think i might go with a couple heavy coats of wax and maybe throw on some Shrink wrap.. I will look into the clear bra more when i get back because I have to do something before love bugs get here. They are a Killer!

I got a can of Duplicolor's Shield at my local Advance Auto on clearance for $1.20. Of course that's the day after I get back from vacation, but I'm sure I'll use it soon. Anybody else tried it?
