Lightbulb Home Made Stubby

i was out messing around in the garage today and a semi-clever idea poped in my head when i was looking at the stock fishing pole antenna. i already have the SoCal Billet Stubby so i thought what the hell wonder how well the factory antenna will work if it were cut to a stubby? So between budwiser moments i snipped the factory antenna, epoxyed the tip so no moisture would get in there and painted the tip black to match and slapped it back on the HHR and after driving around this evening the reception was just as good as the stock fishing pole. I just might stick with it,the reception at times with the billet stubby gets fuzzy

The stubby i made is 3 7/8 inches about an inch and a quarter longer then the billet one.. i cut the antenna right at the top of the base right were you see the twist of the copper wire start. And by no means am i trying to tell folks not to buy the billet stubby, its a great looking product and works GREAT for me,except when i drive throught a few of the valleys out here in Vegas. i figured this might just be a nice looking option for the folks who want to tinker with there OEM Antenna's. I POSTED THE PICS ON THE MEMEBERS PHOTO SECTION

Right after I posted the last one. I went out and cut it. It looks good and sounds the same.
