Has anybody here done a hood tilt kit Would like to add that to my things to do list to my HHR Panel The mod would open up the hood like my Vette. Please fill free to show pics if U havin them.And how hard the tilt hood kit is to install.Thanks

 

I've seen this kit on a couple of websites, love to do it to my new HHR.

One site is AutoTruck Toys Their kit is $259 + shipping.

The same kit for the same price can be had at Automotive Concepts

I thinks I have another site on my home computer, but the price is the same I think.

Major problem I think of is the plastic grille. If you look closely at the hinges for the front tilt hood, they bolt/weld to the front of the hood and the core support area. Little bit of reinforcing and you have a front tilt hood. Don't quite know if it would be doable on the HHR.

 

Why not go to a side tilt. That would be waaay cool.

 

Hadn't thought about that. Autolock has a split hood kit that lets you cut any angle aor shape down the center of your hood. That would be cool.

 

I think that would be more work than the front tilt...

 

be careful with autoloc, I ordered a sui door kit from them a couple years ago to put on the hhr, they are not big on returns or exchanges even if the mistake was on there part. The product looks to be of great quality though.
