Yes. When I laid out the box, I put the panel back in and used it to draw the opening on the box. That way the speaker will use the stock hole. It's a little tight getting that thing in there, but it fits, and should have better sound than the stock system.

Never have been afraid to tear into a vehicle. Sharon stopped me when I went for the welding equipment

I'm still working on the box (just got back from a weekend getaway) The box is very irregularly shaped. I took a piece of wood and bolted it up to the cross brace and reinstalled the plastic so I could draw a circle where the stock hole is. Then I started cutting away wherever I was going to get interference. I ended up with sides that are tapered, the box is deeper at the bottom than at the top, and the curved part is fiberglass. I stapled some material to the box and coated it with resin, then installed the box over the wheel with a layer of bubble wrap to create the shape of the sheet metal with a space to allow for further fiberglass. That's the step I'm at now. I have to build up the glass so it's sturdy enough to take the pressure of the sub. Once I have that glassed in I'll clean it up and paint it so it looks a little better.

I like the custom red in the ebony.
I was fortunate enough to have a DSM car, so my DSM inserts match my exterior!

I got the box done and installed, plus mounted the sub amp. On the speaker, I got the Rockford Fosgate trim piece with the grille, but had to cut the back side down on the lathe so it would sandwich the stock panel instead of sitting on top of it. Everything bolted up great, and the luggage tray lifts up without hitting the speaker. Now that the sub is installed, I can turn my attention to the new head unit, door speakers, and bluetooth unit.
