So I started the build....

I have my Amp and Door speakers. Gonna Order the sub today or tommorow.

Had some spare time this weekend so I decided to start on the amp rack. Nothing all that fancy but I will wrap both the top and bottom in carpet once I find a good color match for the ebony interior. (suggections?)

1st Picture is w/o cover (sorry about dust)

2nd/3rd show cover

I will mess with the spacers a tad more once carpeted to make the amp flush with the cover.

Next step will be building Box for a single ID 12" Sub. I need right at 1 cubic ft. I can't decide what shape to make it. I would like to be able to have the sub look good when level and when floor is angled to show amp.

I debated glassing an enclosure/amp rack in the spare tire well but with the amount of traveling I do I just couldn't rish going without the tire.

Thanks...For a budget/simple system it should do pretty good in the SQ dept:)

I am half tempted to try and build a Ported box for the IDQ 12V.3. I have always built sealed in the past. Do you think I would like it or will I freak out from not having tight bass?

You ever designed a box

Your set up is sick I have been admiring it here and on the Car audio site for a month.

Remeber, that if you open your windows just a little they act as a port for your box. I would build a sealed box if it were me. Tighter bass if that is what you are after. By the way, that amp rack looks nice.

Is that MDF you're using there? You don't happen to have that pattern measured out, do you? I'll be doing almost the same thing. LOL!

I design and build boxes for a living.
I use ported for everything I do.
When designed correctly, a ported box can give you a tighter more accurate bass response while also giving you a little more punch.
I think you will be very happy with it ported, especially an Image Dynamics sub. They do play very well in ported boxes.
