According to chevrolet.com the tip is an accessory on the LS & 1LT and is standard on the 2LT.

What he said. The welded-on Chrome Tip comes only with the 2.4L engine package. Chevrolet makes a "GM Accessory" chrome tip for the 2.2L - but it is a screw-on (held on with a screw), type tip and way overpriced.
