Hey Capt., ever get those pics., and is the bulb actually blue? Went searching at several different Radio Shacks for a blue LED today, and none of the stores I stopped at had the LEDs in blue. They had green, yellow, red, orange, but no blue. Oh yeah, the salesman in one of the stores said the infraled one shines "baby blue".

My wife must have tossed the white one out because I can't find it anywhere. I set it next to the computer and that's the last time I saw it. The LED is clear until you give it power then the light shines in whatever color you buy. If I remember correctly the color was listed in the upper right hand corner of the package. The salesman is an idiot also because you are not going to see any light beam from an IR LED. Maybe he was thinking UV but even that is like a purple glow.

My platic piece does not snap out even went to an audio installer that had trim tool and he could not get it off.

Thanks for that info ivtech...now I don't feel like the lone ranger, as mine hasn't turned itself loose either.

I agree it does not just pop out I had to remove my visors and trim on the windshield and door plairs to get to mine but it just pops out and you cut the leads and pop in back in. Takes about 1 hour to do it but blue does make it better to see the buttons.

Do any of you guys have a sunroof because mine just pops off by hand? I have a sunroof with no OnStar and it just pops off with a little hand pressure.

No sunroof I said earlier when I asked how easy it was to pop off.

I don't see why Chevy would hold it in any differently based on options? I mean I know why the would put different covers on but you would think they are all held on the same. Weird!
