looes body parts?
Hi. I was wondering if the panels where the running boards would attach (I don't have the running boards) should be loose. Mine can be moved by hand. I asked the service writer if they should be loose and he said "No, they should be tight. Bring it in and we'll put it on a lift and tighten them...no appointment necessary, just stop by at your convience". I stoppd by "at my convience" filled out paperwork and waited about a half hour while the service dept did their thing...or not. The service tech said "I checked 3 other HHRs on the lot and they all have the loose panels. That's the way they all are". So I left with loose panels. Can this be so?
Chevy HHR advertises close tolerances on their bodies and these loose panels are not consistant with that "close tolerance" statement. What is your experience with this problem? I'm sorry if I rambled on a bit.

Never heard of that before. I do not have runningboards on my HHR either, and my panels are not loose at all. If all the panels of the HHRs they have on the lot are loose, they better go back and tighten them. I certainly wouldn't be comfortable with loose panels.
If you are unhappy with what the dealer told you, you can always take it to another dealer and get a 2nd opinion. Sometimes, you can catch someone having a bad day and unfortunately, we as consumers are stuck dealing with it. You can always go the the person in charge of the Service Techs and have them take a look as well, but I would be inclined to take it elsewhere if you get no satisfaction from the dealership where it was purchased.
