modify rear bumper for dual exhaust

Has anyone out there modified their rear bumper to accomodate a dual exhaust set up? If so, what are the pros, cons and problems involved?

maier748,
I'm considering doing just that...
I suppose ya could just cut out (duplicating the other side, measure 3 times, cut once) but there would be no 'lip' on the new cutout.
I successfuly did a mastcetomy on my front bumper, used plastic welding (soldering iron) and stainless steel strips 3/4" wide on the inside of the patches, and two part epoxy (designed for plastic) on the outside. I practiced welding on the donor bumper; it's pretty easy, took me about 1/4 hour to perfect the method.
I would/will use the same technique to add the 'lip', to duplicate the existing cutout. The 'lip' addition is probably mute, as i think it would barely show.
Good luck, and let us know what ya come up with...

Here is one of the pics that Jay was referring to. Man, that is one sweet looking set of duals coming out of the back of that ride!

I just went outside to look at mine because I have a trailer hitch and it would easier to hang a dummy pipe than try to re-fab the hitch.

Here is the real deal. Rick's Hnewagn had dual exhaust done in early 07. It has a crossover behind the bumper. It sounded pretty good as I remember it.

You folks might consider speaking to Norm's Fiberglass. He may be willing to make a dual-outlet rear valance for HHR. He makes a lot of cool parts for Solstice :)
