Gotta wonder about airflow, what are you gonna do in the cutout?

 

I'm thinking a black mesh, but I am kinda looking at a speed grille type deal too. I'm still wondering about the airflow as well. After all is said and done I'll have to try it and see. If it doesn't work or I start to overheat, then I'll just have to come up with another design and try again.

I kind of liked the look before you put the filler on, looked like it was wavy. Could have been interesting. There's no doubt that when it's finished it will stand out.

I seriously doubt you'll have overheating problems. Just look at the front of a Cavalier.

 

Wavy, yes. Not really the look I was after. Hopefully completely smooth by the time I am done. It was also rather see throughish, probably to thin as well. I'd hate to get it all done, put it on and drive half a block get a rock kicked up into it and have a hole. That would just ruin my whole day. But then again I'd get to try something new again.

 

Maybe with a couple more layers of fiberglass? It probably would end up smooth that way though. It should look cool when you finish it, either way.

I can visualize what the grill is going to look like when finished, but I can't picture what it will look like installed. I'll be waiting...

 

Here is a update for tonight. Second coat of filler to take out all the wave, and first coat of primer. Tomorrow I'll fog on a second coat and color sand to find any low spots, and smooth up the bowtie.
