JoeK, I'm not big on Black on Black. I think chrome would be nicer - and FASTER!
The model I wanted (Nitrous G), only came in an 8-inch width.

I race my HHR a lot and didn't want to slow it down THAT much!

The 17x7's I have now (Riaxx Fontana's (by American Racing)), are just perfect.

Plus, they are color matched to the body paint!

OK these are the wheels that i am going with! I have talked to three dealers and all three say they will fit without rubbing. I am going with 235 45 17 Toyo tires. They are a little wider but a tenth of an inch smaller diameter wise. I am deciding between Tires by web or Wheels for less

Are they 7's or 8's?

Then rubbing will be an issue if you are going to lower it. You will need to have your fenders rolled...and still might hit occasionally.

I stayed with 7's to prevent this.

When are you going to understand, Mike, that this is an offset and treadwidth issue that has nothing to do with rim width???

If someone changes rims and the offset stays the same (42 mm, for example, which is the stock HHR figure) and goes to a wider rim width without any other changes, the location of the tread stays in the exact same location in the fenderwell.

Please, find a site that explains this to be truely helpful here and not continue with posting erroneous info. Please don't take this wrong, but some of these newer people looking to buy rims will be making a decision and maybe not getting what they would really like (and that may include you) because of statements like this. Peace!

They are the Foose Nitrous, 18X8.5 with a 34mm offset. I also have 235 40's on them. The wheel width and the offset really give it a nice "lip" and depth look. Needless to say, I will NOT be lowering anytime with this setup as it is evident it will rub in the fender wells. However, it is a compromise I am very happy with.
erf2u- Those wheels rock. I'm on a major jealousy trip. I was planning on the gray ones in the future, but 17's instead of 18's. Any problems with yours? What is your offset?
they look awesome!!!

Thanks hhr213, these are 34mm offset..I have had no problems at all...the ride is not noticable to the average rider....The only drawback is I cannot lower, but something I can live with.
