You know what? I love it! I have the same grille, WO the emblem. And truthfully they are a dime a dozen. Yours is different, Haven't seen one like it. Maybe paint the bowtie and the "Chrevrolet" blue..but keep it the way it is, different is better. Todd (Uma)

Cool I agree with HillsdaleHHR

the lines are what is throwing it off, the color as well. If maybe moved it down to the bottom of the grill where the grill lines are straight and not curved. any possibly color it. Just a thought.

I like the phrase " Not felling it". Sums it up for me. I'd like it to work, but alas, It does not. Too thick for the grill I think.

I did the same sorta thing with some chrome once. I shoulda done a poll, but just posted it. Some folks liked it , some did not. I did not go with it. Here it is since I mentioned it:

Well, I'm going to hope you do what you wanna do, but I have to chime in that I'm not feeling it. I LOVE UMA's Grill on his car - so sleek, and I REALLY love it on Dory, because I think of the gills of the Blue Whale. very "oceanic" . In fact, I have considered it for mitzkity because of that her surfer motif. Anyway, I felt the thick ornament was too heavy for it.

That being said, can you believe I just put my hubby through the SAME DRILL today? Got the '48 hood ornament, filled it with bondo, built it up to fit the line of the hood, and painted the excess bondo with Dayton Blue, and set it on the hood for a last look and.... I hated it. It looked like a piece of snot on the hood. Either it had to go, or the eyelids had to go. Forgive the hijack, but I just wondered it you would agree. www.mitzkity.com/images/hoodorntest.jpg

Thanks all!! Cheri, that doesn't look bad, at least from the angle of the pic.

I have to agree w/ all who have stated that it doesn't flow w/ the lines of the grill. I will change the placement to a bit lower on the grill and see what responses it gets at the car meet this Friday.

Cheri, I'm sure Jay wouldn't mind a hijack of the type we just added.

Heck the thread could be come the "Home for Misfit Mods"

That said, I like your hood ornament The hood is long enough so it works pretty well. You think it clashes with the eyelids, I think it clashes with the license front plate holder.

Too bad the holder has to to stay.........

Yeah, keep at it. Sometimes it is all in the placement of objects and not always what they are , but how they interact. Fung Shwey. as it were
