to all my fellow Canuks...I live in Ontario and was wondering where I can get a paint job done for the HHR..not the whole car, just want the hood and roof done in black, and leave the rest of the car the dark grey...any ideas on price or where I can get it done? Only place I know of is Maaco from all their radio ads haha or dealer.. any ideas?

i was quoted 500-600 from Maaco to do the roof and hood base clear coat of black...does this seem reasonable?

Ive been wanting something similar for a long time, but a quality paint job is probably one of the most expensive car mods. It involves a lot of prepwork, dissassembly, masking, premium materials, proper techniques, etc.
I wouldnt go to maaco, they do low priced jobs but the quality is poor and wont last. You can get more for your money elsewhere. If you go on the ontario cobalt club forums, there are a few members there working at shops. Try messaging RG4 or ontariotexan.

they said they would sand down the clear coat but not to bare metal, just clear coat and to rough up the paint for the new application and was surprised that it included clear coat as well.
