Paint vs vinyl

Just wondering how people feel about vinyl or paint for HHRs. This includes striping and Flames. I am old school and would not put anything but paint on any car I drive.

That also depends on how much money you can put aside for paint. Sometimes vinyl is an inexpensive way to customize your Hot Rod.

I went the vinyl route for pinstriping. I like the idea of being able to change it if I see something I like better than what I already have.

Each have their own application. But somethings just need to be painted.

Although a friend of mine does striping and gold leafing, much to his dismay I'm onto the vinyl thing. Like Deb....it's easy to change, you have more less permanent options. If I ever come up with a scheme I truly like, I may have it painted.

I went with the vinyl pinstripes on mine becouse it was cheep (5.99), and I could do the work myself, and as others have mentioned it can be removed if somthing goes wrong. I believe if it is done right, and you take care of it vinyl will last for a good long time. That said, I think painted stripes look better and may outlast vinyl, but for me vinyl was the right choice.

I agree with everything said about the vinyl being easy to change if you don't like it. I have had no problems at all with the vinyl pinstriping.

I prefer Velcro

I went with vinyl that way if I do not like the looks I can take it off. If wanted I can change it out to something new.

if you want it done right and to last the lifetime of the car I myself would have them painted on!
