Rear License Plate

I just got my license plate from the dealership this morning. The license plate "area" in the back has 2 holes for screw, and 2 rubber bumpers on the bottom. I ordered a license plate frame, assuming there were 4 holes for screws.

Umm. Is there anyone that has a frame on the back plate, and if so, how did you do it? I thought it'd be something as simple as twisting in 4 screws..

2 screws in the top. the rubber grommets at the bottom keep the plate from rubbing on your paint.

You should be able to put the screws through the plate frame, and then the holes in the plate, and tighten it in.

Most frames have a small lip to hold the bottom of the tag to the frame.

My frame and plate both have 4 holes in them, but the car only has the 2 holes at the top. I don't want to (nor will I) put 2 new holes in just for the frame.

OK, the fact your plate and frame have 4 holes makes no difference, the top two holes on the pale and frame are all you use to attach the plate and frame to the car.

All three of my cars/truck only have two mounting holes.
My wife has one of those 4 hole frames. I just put a short nut/bolt combo in the lower holes that aren't used to mount it to her car.
The rubber bumpers keep the nut ends from touching the car body.

My plate frame is black so I used plastic push fasters for the two lower holes then trimmed them flush from the back.

I've never had a car with only 2, hence my confusion (over a simple matter...) I just assumed they all had 4

I solved my problem-I cut the 2 bottom holes off of my frame (it's plastic) and filed them smooth. Just puttin' my noggin' goop to good use, I suppose

Hmmm...my '76 Camaro had four plate mounting screw holes, and that struck me as odd.
