Well I took my HHR in to get a Water problem fixed and to get a new blade for the rear window (because the parts store did not have a 6” blade). I wanted to buy a new wiper blade and when I picked up my HHR for the shop the arm and blade was replaced (covered by warranty? :surprised ). The old arm only pulled a few inches from the window and did not clean very well. The new arm pulls out a good ten inches now from the window (a lot easier to clean the window now). This was done no cost to me . Just FYI

So you're telling us the arm installed at the factory is crap and you need to get it replaced.

Yours was probably manufactured around the same time as mine but I don't seem to have that problem. My only complaint is that it doesn't wipe the full window and that's just due to poor design.

Mine works fine. Only thing I did was remove the stop so it will open up fully for cleaning.

Anyone else get this fixed under warranty?? We used ours today for the first time... it has never really been driven in alot of rain till now (had it 2 months)... there is a strip where the wiper doesn't touch the glass & leaves a stripnear the midle / lower portion...it's a 2007.. anyone with an 07 have this problem, or has it been mostly 06? If you got it fixed, was it difficult to get it replaced under warranty?

Thanks for any info guys

So has anyone else replaced the rear arm from the factory? Does anyone have part numbers?

Mine does the middle of the window, and the end doesn't want to touch.

I'm sure a the SoCal HHR group has plenty of them lying around. They seem to always be disarming the rear wipers of theirs.

Has anybody considered replacing the wiper with a model from another make of car? I was thinking of this yesterday when I was in traffic behind a Prowler and later a Toyota Rav4. Both had wipers that went 180 degrees and cleared the whole window.

I was thinking that the windows were about the same size, would a wiper from a different vehicle work?
