Well, earlier this week we had golf-ball size hail at work and you can guess what happened to my HHR. Now that the insurance is paying for a new hood and a repaint of everything except the front and rear bumpers, I have a chance to change the look. My color is currently SOM.

I would like some sort of two-tone or wide stripes. Also I would like to keep the SOM on the bottom of the car since that won't need a repaint if the top (the hail-damaged part) is painted a different color. Even though insurance is paying for the repaint, two-tone will cost more and I am trying to keep my additional investment to a minimum. I look at the two-tone pictures in the forum, but there weren't many with SOM on the bottom. Anyone have any pictures with SOM on the bottom? I do like the one picture in the two-tone postings that looks like it was at a car show and it has a bluish-graying top color with SOM on the bottom.

Also, does anyone make an aftermarket hood for the HHR that is different from the factory hood (scoop, bulges, etc.)? I haven't been able to find any yet.

Any ideas will be appreciated!

I always liked this two tone.

 

Maybe a dark blue(Imperial Blue)?

 

I was thinking about the old SS stripes that used to be on the Cameros and Chevelles. Maybe put on some ghost stripes in the SOM but a shade or two darker.
