Resistors for LEDs

What have people done that converted to LED lighting that needed resistors? Where did you end up putting the resistor, and how did you keep the hot resistor from melting any plastic on the car?

I have one on my third brake light I don't know what to do with, and I need some for the front turn signals to keep from hyperflashing.

Sounds like you may have already tried the search. I am absolutely positive that your questions have been answered before. Try some other search terms.

Ya don't mount them to plastic, they should be solidly screwed to metal. It doesn't have to be close to the light, anywhere on that wire will do. Ceramic ones are smaller and a bit cooler.
