roof rails..

Lately I've been pondering installing the side roof rails. I've found new kits at a decent price and after reading one members thread on the install, see it's not a big deal. They would be the full chrome ones. Just debating on keeping the cleaner look without them or adding them. They would probably never be used for hauling anything. Just for looks.

How she currently sits....

I think they look good either way but prefer them without

without

i have roof rails , they look ok and are great to have , if they came with the cross pieces. mine as well as most others i have seen don't have the the cross pieces..i also got the hoop spoiler that i don't really care for either..i do like the smaller spoiler...hhrs look great without adding anything. i think the extra stuff takes away from the body lines...most 49 suburbans did not have roof racks or spoilers......just for looks-roof rails-, no.

I like em.................on other HHR's. I agree, I like the low roof look with the clean lines. However, on a black one? Chrome rails are bombdiggity.

I've got a Red SS with the rails and the cross-rails... I like this look. To me, it doesn't make it look any taller...

In my opinion, the chrome makes it look like an SUV, while the black ones have a sportier look. The base models and SS with the black rails look pretty good to me.
However, if you dont have a need for them, I would definitely keep the clean look and put that money into something else.
Like.. umm... lowering springs? *hint*

Why does everyone keeps saying that..... I moved last summer and my new house has a driveway with a incline..... I have to already pull in at an angle so I don't drag.

Just glad I don't still have my truck, it would not make it.

I'm actually kinda suprised at the answers. I like the clean look, but found the side rails for $175 shipped (new set). So just got me wondering.... Maybe I should just leave well enough alone.....
