The advantages to the board covers that SoCalHHR's supplies is that they can be unique one-off designs to fit each customer's needs.
We have the capability to do this. Finishes can be polished, brushed, or even powdercoated.

You can have the name or theme of your car, or your user name, your business name and logo, custom fonts and graphics, flames, skulls, flowers, etc. on your board covers to make them unique for your car; - just let your imagination run wild.

The graphics can be painted or have a machined finish, or they can be painted with standard colors to match the OEM finishes.

Once you can get under an edge (Careful, this can be hard and easy to scratch finish, I used a plastiic spatula) just pull away from the car, it will come off. There will be holes from the openings for the clips. The new pads used two-sided tape. Very easy. Just be careful when testing for placement, they will slice the paint real easy!

My husband used a screwdriver wrapped in a towel to save the finish. Not a problem at all. Well-placed tape made the placement of the new boards really easy.

Is this what the bottom of the black pad on the factory running boards looks like? Also, where do you purchase billet covers like those on Karen's HHR, and how do you remove the OEM & install the new ones?!?

Here's some pics from when I did mine with the billet. I used a stick that was slightly thicker than a paint stir stick and put it under the part of mine that was already lifted. This is what you see underneath when they are removed.

In this picture you will see the old one laying off to the side upside down (see the stick?)

I used the 3M tape below...cut in about 6" strips and used almost 2 packages.

I did not purchase the ones I have. They were a Christmas gift from Karen and she got them at truckshop.com Karen and I have become quite good friends over the past 2 years and I was having difficulty getting dealer to take care of the issue to my satisfaction. I consider myself very fortunate to have met some wonderful people via the HHR forums and have made some great friends along the way. Thanks again Karen...I love these just as much now as the day they arrived.

No Problem Deb, but thanks! Mine also came from Truckshop.com.
They come with screws, but you really can not use them, so I did like Deb did and used a lot of heavy duty 2 sided tape.
