To properly repair rust, cut it out!

Remove the crud

Weld in new patch panel

Use the correct metal prep primers

The Eastwood product I believe has a flex tube with it to reach into areas, but the area has to be cleaned and prepped before using the encapsulator.
If you watch Iron Trap Garage on You Tube, Matt (who works for Eastwood), has used this product lately on a 39 Ford he's fixing.
Rust dissolver is not a rust converter.
A converter drys to a hard film so it can be painted over it.
Here's some stuff from Home Depot that is a primer also.

Yes, for now I am just removing the rust as much as possible, prime and paint. Been talking to my buddy and he is talking to a friend of ours who owns his own shop ( we went to High School together ) to see what kind of deal we can agree on. They are also looking into finding a deal on the exhaust system as well. He can bend pipes as he fabricates custom Choppers and other motorcycles from scratch.

You are one lucky person to have friends like that, I'm envious.
In my life time I had, at times, people who could help and had either my own shop or had shops to work in 24/7.
Today, being retired it's all different.
Good luck with your repairs.

I did go swap for the rust converter instead, Didn't feel like going through the whole wash/dry cycle again. everything was dry but to prevent anything from sticking I silicone the weather strip that contacts the lower part of the door just to be on the safe side.

Thanks, I have 2 really good friends, Knew each other since grade school... something like something like 45+years, My buddy Bill built street rods with me in the garage of my first house. All the fun times and stories we could tell , Today he is flipping houses which we both did and helped each other from time to time still. Paul, he is a bodyman/painter, that's all he does and had some top notch custom cars he painted win a lot of awards on the paint alone... an earlier pic shows they look like glass when done. He did both of mine free ( materials and Labor ) as I did some work on his house laying new floors and paint. So we kind of help each other out over the years and its hard to have loyal friends as long as our friendships have lasted.

Enjoy those friendships, most of my life long friends are fading away, health issues, moved away, that sort of thing. But it’s great when we do see one another from time to time.

Agreed, these 2 stayed in the area except Bill and his wife as he was in the military and moved to Germany fior 5 years a while back. But always in touch when help is needed
